The Basics of Pistol Shooting Course teaches the basic knowledge, skills, and attitude for owning and operating a pistol safely. You should expect both classroom and range time, learning to shoot revolvers and semi-automatic pistols. You will learn rules for safe gun handling; pistol parts and operation; ammunition; shooting fundamentals; range rules; shooting from the bench rest, prone, sitting, standing and kneeling positions; cleaning the pistol and continued opportunities for skill development.

The course is a beginner course and designed to provide the novice student with greater confidence in handling firearms. It is recommended to be taken prior to a NV CCW Course or a Personal Protection Course.

COST: $125 includes range fees and all materials.

CLASS LENGTH: 8.5 hours including a 30 minute break for lunch.

WHAT TO BRING: Snacks and lunch if you wish to eat in the classroom. We often order from a fantastic pizza place across the street from class. We will provide coffee, water, and miscellaneous snacks. Firearm: Any caliber double-action revolver or single action/double-action semi-auto pistol. AR-15 type pistols are not allowed in class. Your gun must be in good working order. If you don't own a gun, one will be provided at no charge (just let us know). Ammo: Anywhere from 40 to 80 rounds is required. PLEASE LEAVE AMMO IN CAR IT CAN NOT COME INTO THE CLASSROOM.

Protection: Prescription glasses, sun or shooting glasses are required, along with hearing protection. We have extra glasses and hearing protection so just let us know if you need some. Range Fee: Included with price of class. Targets will be provided to all shooters.
